The number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the United States last week fell by 20 thousand to 654 thousand

According to the Ministry of Labor United States, the number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the United States for the week ending April 4, fell by 20 thousand to 654 thousand

Analysts had expected reduction in the number of unemployed for 9 thousand

The rate last week revised upwards - from 669 thousand to 674 thousand

The number of repeat applications for unemployment benefits for the week ended March 28 increased by 95 thousand to 5840 thousand record against 5745 thousand the previous week, revised from 5728 thousand
