Construction of new housing in the U.S. fell by 5.9% in February

Volumes of new housing in the United States declined in February by 5,9% to 575 thousand in connection with the powerful snow storm in the east and south of the country.

Construction of houses for one family, declined by 0,6% to 499 thousand in the same time, the construction of apartment houses and apartments dropped by 43%.

Compared with the same period last year building houses for one family, increased by 39%, and the construction of multi-family homes fell by 41%.

The number of building permits issued has decreased compared to the previous month by 1,6% to 612 thousand
