Surplus balance of foreign trade of Canada has increased in January, reflecting a significant decline in imports

According to Statistics Canada's surplus in the balance of foreign trade of Canada in January amounted to 0,8 billion dollars. However analysts forecast a surplus at 0.3 billion dollars. We recall that a month earlier surplus of balance of foreign trade amounted to 0.1 billion dollars.

It is worth noting that exports in January increased by 0,5%. This is the minimum value of the index over the past four months. At the same time, import volumes fell by 1.7%.
