In France, ETA leader arrested

In France the arrested militant leader of the Basque separatist ETA.

In the south-west France near the city of Bordeaux arrested the leader of militant Basque separatist organization ETA Iurga Meninueta Mitega, who was detained during a joint operation by French and Spanish police, transmits radio "Freedom", with reference to the Spanish radio.

Mitega headed the military wing of ETA, after the arrest of its former leader at the end of last year. Over 40 years of fighting Basque separatists for the establishment of their independent State, the victims of the terrorist attacks were more than 850 people.
