Bank of England has kept key interest rates at 0.50%

At the meeting on Thursday, 8 October, the Committee on Monetary Policy Bank of England has kept the rate of compulsory reserves of commercial banks at 0.50%. This decision was predicted by most analysts. At the same meeting it was decided to continue the program for the acquisition of assets of the private sector by the central bank reserves totaling 175 billion pounds.
Minutes of committee meetings on monetary policy will be published on Thursday, October 21. The last time the Bank of England rate was reduced by 50 basis points to the level of 0,50% at the meeting of March 5, 2009.
