Number of applications for unemployment benefits in the United States rose to 474 thousand

The number of primary applications for unemployment insurance in the United States increased over the week to Dec. 5 to 17 thousand to 474 thousand
rate rose for the first time in the past six weeks immediately after the celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Economists expect declining to about the level of 450 thousand
number of Americans continuing to receive unemployment benefits decreased by one week to Nov. 28 at 303 thousand to 5.16 million. This is a record low value of this indicator since February this year.
